Tour Description

Day 1:

We begin the day with a dramatic panoramic overview of the new and old city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, including the Temple Mount Esplanade of the old city. From the Mount of Olives we travel along the Kidron Valley to view the Garden of Gethsemane and the City Walls.

We enter the Old City via the Armenian Quarter and visit the Wailing Wall. Walking through Jerusalem’s Old City Bazaar we reach the Christian Quarter, and follow the Via Dolorosa – the Stations of the Cross to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre – the site of the crucifixion.

We then make our way to the renovated Jewish Quarter and the Cardo, walking along the old Byzantine main street, dating about 1,700 years back. We then ascend to Mount Zion, and on Saturdays we visit the Hall of the Last Supper and David’s Tomb.

From the Old City we embark on a guided tour of the new city from within our comfortable vehicle, taking us, eventually, to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, for a tour of the Museum.

Day 2: Massada and the Dead Sea

We begin our descent towards the Judean Desert passing through the Inn of the Good Samaritan. Reaching the foot of Massada, we board a cable car to ascend the 2000-year-old fortress and palace built by King Herod, and enjoy an exhilarating and illuminating tour of Massada and its dramatic history.

Leaving Massada, we drive via Ein Gedi and Qumran, taking in an overview of the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.

In the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, situated 400m below sea level, we enjoy floating in the mineral-rich water. You could also take a mud-bath and benefit from the therapeutic qualities of the natural Dead Sea mud.

On our drive back to Jerusalem we will get to look out on a panoramic view of Jericho and the old Roman Road.

Remarks:

*On Saturdays Holocaust Museum is closed. Substituted by a visit to Garden of Gethsemane & Mt. Zion.
*Hotel includes B&B, single supplement $45 per person.
